Updates: new skinwebsite templatesarticleslist of hostsphotoline actionspoll of the week

Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of girls on Facebook talking about this Nicki Minaj character. Everyone wants their last name to be Minaj all of a sudden. Everyone wants to be “harajuku barbies”. I did not know much about this woman, aside from knowing she’s a female rapper and seeing a few pictures of her, so I decided to look at youtube videos of her and read some of her lyrics. I seriously can’t fathom why girls would want to emulate her? Ladies, we have lowered our standards so much that we would rather be bad bitches than beautiful queens??! It hurts my soul that people actually look up to Nicki Minaj (heck, even Lady Gaga, Rihanna, & Beyonce for that matter). She SHOULD NOT be your role model. Find someone worth emulating or better yet- BE YOURSELF!!

That’s a huge problem nowadays. People don’t want to be themselves. They want to be followers and do what’s “in”? But, why? What’s “in” now may be old news next season! Then you’re going to have an identity crisis, right?? It’s just upsetting that some person who you don’t even know has so much of an influence on you- your style, your speech, your thoughts, etc. That’s some serious mind control right there.

… In other news (lol), I am FINALLY back and I hope 2010 will be an active year here at Doux Riens! I’ve added a few new layouts and two articles- 7 Essential Sites for College Students & What NOT To Do When Approaching Girls. Be sure to take a look =). If there’s anything you ever want me to blog or write an article about, just let me know; I’m always looking for ideas.

Rest In Peace, Michael.
Thursday, June 25th, 2009

R.I.P Michael Jackson… wow, it feels so strange typing this. No, I am not crying over his death. I am not mourning. I’m unable to cry over someone I have never even met. However, I am saddened by his death. This man has touched so many souls with his music. He’s brought people together. He has inspired people (and will continue to do so). I’m still having trouble wrapping my mind around that the fact that he’s dead. Of course, he’ll live on through his music. That will NEVER die, so essentially we still have a part of him with us… ugh. It’s really unbelievable!

I came across dozens of Facebook statuses about this and I saw that some girl commented and said something along the lines of “MJ probably died because he couldn’t touch little boys anymore.” Seriously though?? That was so disrespectful to me. & to make a joke out of someone’s death?? That is NOT humor, at all. People are so ruthless and incompassionate. It’s horrible. *sighs* I’m about to go listen to his music in memory… Rest in peace, Michael Jackson.
