New Site Is Up!!

Hey guys… I opened up my new site. It’s STRICTLY blogging, no graphics or anything for the visitors to take except our advice. I decided that I do not want this site to redirect from Douxriens.com to the new link so I will not post it here. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to comment those who’ve commented me so I can give you all my new link :). It’ll be under my first name, Yasmine, and not my nickname “Mimi.” It’s a blog ran by me, my best friend, and our other friend… it’s going to be SO. MUCH. FUN!!! Soooo, I’ll be seeing most of you around :).

P.S. This site expires in July I believe, so when this site expires, so does the content… save whatever content you need (no rush though, you have plenty of time). I guess this is my final post here? It’s been real fun you guys! See you later .

I’ve changed.

I have realized that I have changed. I have outgrown the site and need a site change to accompany the growth that I have experienced. I do not feel connected to the site at all. It finally dawned on me as to why- I feel no connection to the name. AND THAT’S IMPORTANT. “Sweet nothings” was a cute phrase I liked and I love the French language, so I combined the two… but… it still means NOTHING to me. That’s why I don’t put my heart into this site. That’s why I don’t update it. Get ready you guys. I’m going to start a new site soon. I’m going to be deleting a lot of things. I might keep some “goodies” for my visitors, but my website would mostly be comprised of my thoughts. I can already envision the site. I’M. SO. EXCITED. I’ll probably have it up at least before fall… so yeah. LOOK OUT WORLD, here I come… AGAIN :P.

Can I just say it’s simply AMAZING discovering that some of my old web design pals are still around ♥. It makes me happy :).

In other news… In my previous post, I told you all that my best friend and I were looking for an apartment to move into it. Guess what? We got the apartment!! We moved in on April 9th, 2011. HELLO complete independence!! I have always had an independent mindset and now I am completely on my own. I pay for the roof over my head, I pay for my food, transportation, etc. It feels GREAT. I am so thankful to God that I was blessed with a job last year, which enabled me to make this move. I just cannot express how happy this makes me! My family has been a great help- my aunts have helped a lot with the purchasing of items. Utilities are included in the rent (whoooooo), but we have to pay for cable. I ordered basic cable last week and let me tell you, it was such a bust!!

Silly, foolish me did not know that basic cable meant “regular” channels with about… hmm… THREE cable channels (I re-ordered to get better service)!!! I was SO upset. Not to mention, the African cable installers were hitting on me. It seems like you can’t be nice to men, they take it the wrong way. What’s INSANE is that one of them was trying to give me free (illegal) cable. He told me to call Comcast and cancel the installation, but he’ll still install it. I told him no thanks. At the end of installation, he left his number on my receipt (how unprofessional) and said he has something for me (a free cable box). I told him I’d think it over (to be nice, I suppose). Did I call that man? NOPE! But this past Sunday, I received a text saying “Happy Easter” from an unknown number. I asked who it was, AND IT WAS THE CABLE GUY. I was SO pissed off because I did NOT give that man my effing number, so it meant that he’d taken it from my Comcast information!!! I sent him a text, saying that was very unprofessional and against protocol and that I did NOT give him my number. Then I’d told him to not contact me ever again… He’s lucky I didn’t report him and get him fired tbh.
